EMET - Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit

This whitepaper was provided to Microsoft long before speaking about these weaknesses publicly, to provide Microsoft with opportunity to address short comings. But even with those fixes, many of the weaknesses are generic in nature and unlikely to be sufficiently addressed by userland protection technologies like EMET. E.g. EMET does not protect against kernel vulnerabilities, or help against non-exploit attacks such as Java sandbox escapes.
